Wind Gusts to 55 MPH Could Cause Damage Monday Afternoon

A wind advisory is in effect on Monday afternoon and evening for Marblehead because of wind gusts that could cause damage.

Monday’s rain storm is expected to deliver strong, gusty winds that could damage trees and bring down power lines on Monday afternoon.

A wind advisory has been issued for the North Shore, including Marblehead, that runs from 3-10 p.m. on Monday, according to the National Weather Service.

The damaging winds out of the south are expected to blow at 15-25 miles per hour with gusts up to 55 mph, the weather service said. The peak gusts will occur late Monday afternoon and early evening.

The gusts may be strong enough to knock down tree limbs and power lines which may cause an “isolated power disruptions,” the weather service said. Drivers in high profile vehicles should also be aware that the wind gusts may make it difficult driving.
