Worker Injured in Industrial Accident

An industrial accident occurred on Franklin Street on Thursday morning.

One worker has been injured in an industrial accident at a Franklin Street worksite on Thursday morning.

The incident occurred at about 11:45 a.m. at a home, where emergency personnel were on scene, according to Marblehead police in a Facebook post. Initial reports were that staging had collapsed.

A workman was injured and suffered non-life threatening injuries, according to Marblehead police.

The crews were waiting for an investigator from the U.S. Occupational Safety and Health Administration to arrive. For a time, Franklin Street was closed from Front Street toward Washington Street and MBTA bus routes 441, 442, 448, and 449 were detoured. By 12:30 p.m., the buses had returned to the regular route and Franklin Street was reopened.
