• More Work on the Point Road Bike Path (wanderer.com) — Marion officials are rethinking the gravel surface on the new Point Road bike and walking path after residents reported difficulty for strollers, people with mobility issues, and even pets. The Open Space Acquisition Commission plans to consult engineers and coordinate with the DPW, Select Board, and Conservation Commission on both fixing the path and better funding long-term maintenance of town open spaces.
   

• Car sinks in Sippican Harbor (theweektoday.com) — A car accidentally rolled down the boat ramp at Island Wharf Road in Marion on Saturday evening and sank in Sippican Harbor, but the owner was uninjured. Marion firefighters and a local towing company recovered the fully submerged vehicle and checked for fuel leaks, finding no oil or gasoline in the water.
   

• Old Rochester Students Begin Year of Playbook Initiative Workshops (wanderer.com) — Marion families may be especially interested that Lilah Silveira of Marion was chosen as one of three Old Rochester Junior High Project 351 Ambassadors, representing the town in a yearlong statewide service and leadership program. The story highlights how Old Rochester schools, including Sippican Elementary, are partnering with the Boston Celtics’ Playbook Initiative and Project 351 to train student leaders in community-building, inclusiveness, and racial equity.
