3 Road Construction Detours In Marlborough This Week: MassDOT

MARLBOROUGH, MA — Get ready for a week of detours this week in Marlborough — although none involve the Route 85 connector for a change.

MassDOT crews will be at work this week in two locations along I-495, and in Stow along Route 62 where a bridge will be closed with a long detour around it.

On Thursday starting at 8 p.m., the I-495 ramps to Simarano Drive will be closed. Those ramps will reopen by 2 a.m. on Thursday, however. Here's the MassDOT detour guidance:

• When the I-495 northbound (exit 62) on-ramp from Simarano Drive is closed, traffic will be directed to follow the detour signs in place and use exit 59A (Route 9 eastbound) to access I-495 northbound.

• When the I-495 northbound (exit 62) off-ramp to Simarano Drive is closed, traffic will be directed to follow the detour signs in place and use exit 63B (Route 20 westbound) in order to reverse direction.

All this week through Saturday morning, the ramps from I-495 to Route 62 will be closed. Those closures will happen each night from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. the next day. Here's the MassDOT detour guidance:

• When the I-495 northbound (exit 67) off-ramp to Route 62 is closed, traffic will be directed to follow the detour signs in place and use exit 70 (Route 117 Bolton/Stow) to access I-495 southbound back to exit 67.

• When the Route 62 (exit 67) on-ramp to I-495 northbound is closed, traffic will be directed to follow the detour signs in place and take I-495 southbound to exit 63A (Route 20) in order to access I-495 northbound.  

And finally, the Route 62 (Gleasondale Road) bridge over the Assabet River in Stow will close at 8 p.m. on Monday until 5 a.m. Tuesday, and then for the same hours Tuesday night into Wednesday morning.

MassDOT will have a long detour in place through Hudson's downtown area. Route 62 will be closed from Sudbury Road to Marlborough Road. Here's a map of the detour:
