5 Things You Need To Know Today: Feb. 23
Come visit Marlborough Patch staff today while we work for a couple of hours out of the Coffee Loft on Lincoln Street.

1. Marlborough Patch is holding office hours today! Stop by the Coffee Loft and chat with us while you sip on a drink. Josh Gray and ad manager Steve Antonellis will be working out this location from 1 to 3 p.m.
2. On Saturday, Feb. 25 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., The MetroWest Free Medical Program will be offering free blood pressure screenings at the Russell’s Garden Center Winter Market located at 397 Boston Post Rd., Wayland. Stop by and have your blood pressure taken, meet program volunteers who will explain the free medical care offered by the program, and learn how you may become a volunteer with the program.
3. The Boys & Girls Clubs of MetroWest is asking residents to support their "No Show Ball" by not attending. That's right. Go online and purchase your "virtual tickets" for $5 to an event that will not be taking place. By doing this, all the proceeds will go towards the development of children in the MetroWest community and not towards an extravagant fundraising event. The event itself will "not" take place on April 1 – April Fool’s Day. Tickets can be purchased online. Be sure to forward to your friends, family and colleagues because the more “no shows,” the better!

4. All children living in Marlborough who will be 5 years old on or before Aug. 31, 2012, are eligible to enter kindergarten for the 2012-2013 school year. There are no exceptions regarding entrance age requirements. Families should register at the school the children will attend. Day 1 on the schedule is for students with last names that begin with A-L, and Day 2 is for students whose last names begin with M-Z. If families are unable to attend on the specified date, they can attend the alternate registration date for the appropriate school.
