5 Things You Need to Know Today: July 18
Here is a list of things going on in and around Marlborough today.

1. Showers and thunderstorms are likely after 2 p.m. with a high of 91 degrees, says the National Weather Service.
2. Attention: (3 ft tall) Mango Pineapple Real Fruit Smoothie cups will be popping up early in the morning in Marlborough today and several other Metrowest communities. Whoever finds a giant Smoothie cup and brings it into a participating on July 18 can win free Real Fruit Smoothies for a year. The giant cups say "Take Me to McDonald's" on them and are complete with instructions on how you turn them in to win. Look for an expanded story on this event towards the end of the week.
3. The Central Massachusetts Committee of the Fresh Air Fund will be greeting 37 New York City children as they arrive in Marlborough today at 4 p.m. at that Moose Hall, 319 Fitchburg St. The youngsters are six to 18 years old and will be visiting for a week or more. Some are leaving home and New York City for the first time, while others are returning to visit the same host families for consecutive summers.

4. Mayoral candidate Jim Mosso will be holding his first Town Hall meeting tonight from 7 to 9 p.m. This will take place at the Masonic Hall at 208 Main Street. This, the first of several Town Hall meetings, will give Jim the opportunity to listen to residents on there concerns or issues, said a release. The candidate will also answer questions. In addition, tickets for July 23 kick-off event will be available at this meeting or at the door.
