5 Things You Need To Know Today: March 14

A local bank has made a generous donation to the MPS music program, and we have most the most requested items at the Marlborough Public Library this week.

1. The Charitable Foundation recently made a $2,500 donation to the Marlborough Public Schools Music Association which was used towards new choral robes.

2.  will be hosting a free dental clinic at their office Saturday, May 5 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. The clinic has been organized to assist children in the area who have no dental insurance and are not able to afford a visit to the dentist. The hygienists and doctors will be providing dental education, exams, and x-rays when necessary. This service is intended for members of the community who are not able to access dental services due to financial constraints Those enrolled in the school system are encouraged to go through the school nurse to verify eligibility. Others are encouraged to call the office for more details. If the schedule is not completely filled with children, the service will be made available to adults in the community as well. Those interested are encouraged to call the office to schedule a time. Appointments will be given priority over walk-ins. Call 508-485-1800 for more information or to schedule an appointment.

3. The five most requested items at the were as follows: 1. 50/50 (DVD); 2. Clara and Mr. Tiffany by Susan Vreeland; 3. Columbiana (DVD); 4. Contagion (DVD); 5. Defending Jacob by William Landay.

4. The  is asking residents to support their "No Show Ball" by not attending. That's right. Go online and purchase your "virtual tickets" for $5 to an event that will not be taking place. By doing this, all the proceeds will go towards the development of children in the MetroWest community and not towards an extravagant fundraising event. The event itself will "not" take place on April 1 – April Fool’s Day. Tickets can be purchased online. Be sure to forward to your friends, family and colleagues because the more “no shows,” the better!

5. Marlborough Patch will be holding office hours tomorrow! Stop by off Main Street and chat with us while you sip on a drink. Josh Gray and ad manager Steve Antonellis will be working out this location from 1 to 3 p.m.
