8-Year-old Boy Dies After He's Pulled From Clinton Pond

CLINTON, MA — An 8-year-old boy died after he was pulled from a pond in Clinton Wednesday afternoon.

Clinton Police were sent to the area of Lakeside Avenue about 2:30 p.m. and found the boy "unresponsive in a nearby body of water," according to a statement released by the Worcester County District Attorney’s Office.

"Emergency personnel transported him to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead," the statement said.

The death remains under investigation by the Clinton Police Department and state police detectives assigned to the district attorney’s office, the statement said.
