Marlborough and Assabet students return to school starting in August. Here are key dates to know.
MARLBOROUGH, MA — Back-to-school planning has already begun in Marlborough, with calendars available to help parents prepare for the first day in Marlborough Public Schools and the Assabet Valley Vocational Regional School District.
Heading into the upcoming school year, some dates are subject to change. Here is the list of dates to know for this school year:

- Aug. 30 first day for grades 1-12
- Sept. 1, 4 no school for Labor Day
- Sept. 7, first day for pre-K and kindergarten
- Oct. 9, Columbus Day
- Nov. 10, Veterans Day
- Nov. 22-24, Thanksgiving recess
- December 25-30 Christmas recess
- Jan. 1, no school for New Year’s Day
- Jan. 15, MLK Day
- Feb. 19-23, winter break
- April 15-19, spring break
- May 27, Memorial Day
- June 13 last day of school (with no snow days)
