Bayou Nightmare Haunted House This Weekend In Marlborough
This annual haunted house benefits the Marlborough Food Pantry. Plus, it's awesome.
MARLBOROUGH, MA—Get scared for a good cause.
One of the area's best haunted houses is back in the form of "Bayou Nightmare ," hosted for the sixth year by Nightmare Marlborough. For three nights, this haunted house is open, and the price is one non-perishable food item that will be given to the Marlborough Food Pantry.
"This haunt is unique in that is from the heart, every actor is a volunteer, entrance is food pantry donations, and most of the props are homemade (recycled garbage) or donations," said organizer Leah Amato, head hauntress. "I bring the passion to the shows in the yearly redesign, allowing for new scares every year and reducing the predictability."

Voodoo on the Bayou Nightmare Marlborough is a small, family run Haunted House in Marlborough. There is no admission fee- non-perishable food pantry donations are accepted.
"Nightmare Marlborough was created out of my basement and obsession with Halloween," Amato told Patch. "This will be the sixth year of running a multi-night event but the 18th Halloween night. Each year I design a completely new haunt; the theme changes, the props are newly made or re-purposed, the script is original, and the actors get different roles & costumes. I do this 100 percent out of pocket & passion. The actors are volunteers; friends & neighbors. I build as many of the props as I can and supplement with store purchases where needed.
Last year, 400 "victims" came to the haunted house and they donated 800 pounds of food.
