Closures Back In Marlborough At I-290, I-495: MassDOT

MARLBOROUGH, MA — Construction will resume this week on a state project overhauling the Route 85 connector between I-290 and I-495 in Marlborough and Hudson.

MassDOT will shut down the on-ramps from I-290 eastbound to I-495 northbound and the Route 85 Connector beginning Tuesday around 9 p.m. The ramps should reopen by 5 a.m. Wednesday.

"These temporary overnight traffic impacts are necessary to allow crews and contractors to conduct bridge repair operations safely and effectively," MassDOT said in a bulletin. "During the overnight work, traffic that is seeking to access I-495 northbound or the Route 85 Connector will be directed to utilize I-495 southbound to exit 63A (Route 20 eastbound)."

MassDOT last closed the interchange in January, but closures had been an almost weekly occurrence throughout 2022.
