MARLBOROUGH, MA — The Stop the Spread coronavirus testing site in Marlborough will close for one day this week during a surge in demand for tests.

The drive-up site at the New England Sports Center will be closed on Friday. The site offers PCR tests, and is one of the main Stop the Spread sites in central Massachusetts. A UMass Memorial spokesperson said the closure is due to snow forecast for Friday.

"Please note: our testing site periodically has to close during testing hours due to public safety concerns. We have never run out of testing supplies, however we must continue to provide a safe environment for Donald Lynch Boulevard and the New England Sports Center," UMass Memorial said in a Facebook post Wednesday.
