Council Accepting Grant To Start Ghiloni Park Updates
The update to Ghiloni Park is part of the city's master plan.

MARLBOROUGH, MA— Marlborough's City Council tackles an agenda at its next meeting on Monday, May 21, that includes accepting a grant to support the rebuilding of Ghiloni Park, which is a much-used facility in the city.
The mayor and council are predicted to accept a grant from the state's Office of Energy and Environmental Affairs for the Ghiloni Park Renovation Project. The resolution states that the 66 acres that encompass the park that is dedicated to recreation purposes in much need of upgrades.
The park includes a softball field, several soccer fields, basketball courts, a beach volleyball court, playgrounds, a skate park, a jogging track, a fitness station, walking paths and a nature trail.

The main focus of the master plan is to renovate the park and in the first phase to add and improve parking, improve the walking trail and make it more accessible.
The Master Plan is outlined as totaling $1.1 million and the City Council authorized a bond funding amount of up to $3 million.

"The council is being asked to accept the grant," Priscilla Ryder, conservation officer, told Patch. "The city will be doing some renovations to Ghiloni Park as part of a Master Plan upgrade to the park. This grant will help pay for upgrades in the first phase.”
The City Council meeting starts at 8 p.m. in the Council Chambers, 2nd floor, City Hall.
