Emergency I-495 Bridge Repair Will Keep Lanes Closed Friday

MassDOT warned drivers Friday morning about slowdowns near I-290 that could last hours.

HUDSON, MA — MassDOT closed several northbound lanes of I-495 Friday morning to make emergency bridge repairs.

The repairs were ongoing as of 11 a.m. on the River Road overpass in Hudson, which is just north of the I-290 interchange and the Route 85 Connector on-ramps from Washington Street.

The two left lanes of the highway were set to be closed for "several hours," MassDOT said in a tweet around 10:45 a.m.

"During the bridge repair work, the two northbound travel lanes will be closed for the next several hours until the repairs are completed. Drivers who are traveling through this area should expect delays, reduce speed, and use caution," the agency said.
