Giving Campaigns in Marlborough
Councilor Vital spearheads three local campaigns to help needy.

Feel like giving? Three giving campaigns are underway in the greater Marlborough community.
The first campaign is a city-wide coat drive. The students at AMSA continue to make a difference in their community by organizing the annual coat collection campaign. It is the sixth year in a row that AMSA has collected coats. If you have coats that you would like to donate, please drop them off as soon as possible. All sizes (12 month to 5X) are gladly accepted. Drop-off locations are the Marlborough Police Station and Lost Shoe Roasting and Brewing. Those in need of coats can go to the June's Table at the Holy Trinity Community Center on Lincoln Street on Wednesday afternoon from 3 - 5:30 PM and Saturday, 4:30-6:00 PM.
The next campaign, also coordinated by the students of AMSA, is the city-wide holiday card collection for those in the city's nursing homes. If you are able please drop off holiday card(s) with a "note of love" to the Lost Shoe collection box. These cards will be distributed to the residents of Marlborough Hills and The Reservoir (approximately 250 residents) right before Christmas.

Finally, there is the collection for Sweats for Vets. Started 13 years ago in an AMSA classroom, this program has grown every year. Last year over 2,200 new Boston-team hoodies were collected, wrapped, and delivered to homeless veterans in over 90 different shelters and transitional homes in 10 states. If you want to donate a Boston-team hoodie, winter hats, gloves, or socks, drop-off locations are Lost Shoe Roasting and Brewing, Tackle Box Brewery, or Julio's Liquor in Westborough.
"And it was always said of him, that he knew how to keep Christmas well, if any man alive possessed the knowledge. May that be truly said of us, and all of us! And so, as Tiny Tim observed, God bless Us, Everyone!" ~ Charles Dickens
