I-290, I-495 Ramps Closing Again In Marlborough, Hudson

MassDOT is continuing its work on the main freeway interchange, which has been going on since the end of the summer.

MARLBOROUGH, MA — Detours that have become very familiar to Marlborough-area drivers are back this week.

Each night between 9 p.m. and 5 a.m., MassDOT will shut down the ramps from I-495 southbound to I-290 westbound and I-290 westbound to I-495 southbound in Hudson and Marlborough. Those ramps will be closed each night this week through Friday morning.

During the closures, MassDOT will put the following detours in place:

  • When the I-495 southbound exit 65B ramp to I-290 westbound is closed, traffic will be directed to use exit 63A (Route 20 eastbound) and reverse direction onto I-495 northbound from 11 p.m. to 5 a.m. the following morning.
  • When the I-290 westbound exit 32A ramp to I-495 southbound is closed, traffic will be directed to use exit 30A (Hudson Street) and reverse direction onto I-290 eastbound from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. the following morning.

MassDOT contractors have been repairing bridges along the crucial interchange since the end of the summer.

There will also be an additional I-495 closure this week in Berlin and Hudson. The ramp from Route 62 to northbound I-495 will be closed each night from 10 p.m. until 5 a.m. A detour will direct drivers to southbound I-495 exit 63 to reverse direction.
