LETTER: Wayland Selectman Withdraws Bid for 13th Middlesex Seat
Joe Nolan will not oppose incumbent Tom Conroy in the race to represent four precincts in Marlborough.

To the Editor:
Having given the matter great deal of thought and consideration, I have come to the conclusion that I will withdraw from the race for state representative for the Middlesex 13th district effective immediately. Several factors have led me to this difficult decision.
When I entered this race, our current state representative, Tom Conroy, was engaged in a spirited campaign for the United States Senate. His decision to run for re-election to a fourth term as state representative left me challenging a Democrat with similar policy ideals and one I had supported in the past. Tom is a good legislator and will have my support again this November.

Concurrent with beginning my campaign, I also engaged a new professional endeavor that is growing faster than anticipated and is requiring more attention that I had expected.
Most importantly, my paramount responsibility needs to remain attending to my family. My three children have always kept me grounded, and they need and deserve to have my undivided attention.

My heartfelt thanks to the many friends and constituents who have supported me in this endeavor. Your generosity in time, counsel and financial support humbled me from day one. I look forward to continuing to serve the Town of Wayland through my third term as selectman.
Sincerely Yours,
Joe Nolan
