HUDSON, MA — One of Hudson's two fire stations was crippled over the weekend after a lightning strike, rendering the building unusable, the department said.

The bolt hit the Washington Street fire station around 3:30 p.m. Saturday during a thunderstorm. The strike destroyed the building's electrical system, including the fire alarms. No one in the building was injured during the strike.

Hudson has moved all fire operations to the department headquarters along Cox Street. It's unclear when operations will return to the Washington Street building, Fire Chief Bryan Johannes said in a news release.
