Little Dog Saves Family From Marlborough Fire

A family's dog barked when flames started to shoot from a home on Chestnut Street.

MARLBOROUGH, MA—A young poodle knew something was wrong and let the family know on Friday morning when a fire broke out in a Marlborough home, according to reports.

The three-year-old dog started barking around 2:15 a.m. when flames were breaking out, and woke up the family of four, who all escaped, reports WHDH-TV.

Marlborough firefighters got help from neighboring departments to battle the large fire in the home on Chestnut Street.

Officials called the fire "stubborn, and the property is considered a total loss. The American Red Cross is helping to provide housing for the family, and the fire is under investigation, reports MetroWest Daily News.
