Deadline For Marlborough Tax Break For Seniors Extended
Marlborough has also increased the work-off benefit. Residents over 60 can use the program to lower tax bills by volunteering.

MARLBOROUGH, MA —This year, older Marlborough residents will have a little extra time to apply for a program that can mean lower property tax bills.
The city's senior tax work off program generally allows homeowners over age 60 to get a tax break for volunteering in the city — everything from greeting people at City Hall to landscaping. For 2024, the city has increased the maximum benefit from $1,000 to $1,500.
Seniors will be able to apply for the program until March 3, about two weeks longer than usual. To be eligible for the program, Marlborough residents have to meet the following criteria
