Marlborough Gets Ready for Christmas

Here are five things to know to help inform your day.

1. It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas in Marlborough. We stopped on Route 20 to take a photo of the small house with the many decorations, probably the most visible Christmas display in the city. Do you have a favorite house?

2. Home for the Holidays will kick off at 6 p.m. Friday at the common at Route 85 and Bolton Street. Mayor Arthur Vigeant will light the Christmas tree.

3. The Unitarian Church of Marlborough and Hudson is accepting donations for its Holiday Free Sale. This is a swap of sorts, in which people are encouraged to bring an item, and take an item of their liking, or just give or take an item. "Give, Take, or Give and Take Items for Free." The sale will be from 2 to 5 p.m. Saturday.

4. Do you want to find out quickly what is newly arrived at the Marlborough Public Library? Sign up for Wowbrary, which sends you an email once a week with the top new arrivals. This week's newcomers include: Star Wars, Jedi Academy; Wild, From Lost to Found on the Pacific Crest Trail; and Kind Regards: The Lost Art of Letter Writing.

5. In Case You Missed It: A family member who loves to cook on your Christmas list? Here are some ideas.
