Marlborough Intersection To Get 4-Way Stop Signs
The change follows a traffic study by the city's Engineering Division.
MARLBOROUGH, MA — The city has announced new traffic conditions for the intersection at Church and Hildreth Streets in Marlborough.
The traffic signals at the particular intersection will be removed and replaced with four-way stop signs. The change, which will go into effect on Dec. 8, follows a traffic study conducted by Marlborough's Engineering Division.
The city said that the intersection no longer meets the criteria by the Manual of Uniform Traffic Control Devices for traffic signals. Data also shows that all-way stops typically result in fewer and less severe crashes, improved compliance with right-of-way rules, and better pedestrian accommodation.
