Marlborough Man Among 3 Killed Crash: DA
A Marlborough man died after he and two other crew members were struck by a car heading off an exit ramp on I-91, officials said.
MARLBOROUGH, MA - A Marlborough man was one of three victims in a fatal crash in West Springfield on Friday, March 28.
According to the Hampden District Attorney's Office, a vehicle heading northbound on Interstate 91 attempted to use the Exit 10A ramp leading to Riverdale Street. A crew was repairing the guardrail near the entrance at the time, and the inbound vehicle could not stay within the confines of the ramp. The car crashed into the crew working, and all three succumbed to their injuries.
Igor Costa, 26, of Marlborough was one of the victims. The operator of the car fled the scene on foot, and after a mile-long chase, Bilal Griffith was taken into custody near Morgan Road in West Springfield.

Bilal Griffith was arraigned in Springfield District Court on three counts of manslaughter and one count of leaving the scene of personal injury and death.
