Marlborough Man Led Police On Chase Across Boston Area

State police pursued the Marlborough man along I-95 and I-93 on Thursday night. He was hospitalized due to self-inflicted injuries.

MARLBOROUGH, MA — A Marlborough man wanted in connection to an attempted murder led police on a chase across the Boston area late Thursday before he crashed along I-93 and attempted suicide, according to state police.

The chase began just before 10 p.m. Thursday along Route 20 in Weston, where the 41-year-old had fled after an incident in Marlborough. State and Weston police continued the pursuit onto I-95 southbound.

The driver, who police identified as Mark Donahue, made it as far as the northbound lanes of I-93, where police used a spike strip to disable his car. The pursuit ended when Donahue came to a stop near the Granite Avenue exit in Milton.

When police approached the car, officers discovered that Donahue had cut himself, inflicting serious injuries. He was taken to Boston Medical Center for treatment, police said.

State police said Donahue was suspected of attempted murder in connection to an incident in Marlborough, but did not immediately provide further details. A Marlborough police spokesperson declined to release more details about the incident.

"No further details can [be] provided at this time due to the nature of the crime," the department said.
