MWRTA Expanding Night Bus Service Along Core Routes

The expanded service coming in April will affect routes serving Marlborough, Milford, Holliston, Framingham, Ashland and Natick.

MARLBOROUGH, MA — With the days growing longer this spring, so will key MWRTA bus routes between Natick, Marlborough and Milford.

Beginning April 8, MWRTA will add about three hours of service along six fixed routes serving the region. This is the latest expansion of MWRTA service following the addition this month of nighttime Catch Connect service in Framingham and Natick.

  • Route 4 North (Framingham, Natick) — 3 more loops added, Will not stop at MathWorks Lakeside at night unless requested
  • Route 4 South (Framingham, Ashland) — 4 more loops added
  • Route 6 (Holliston, Milford) — Half a loop added at night, returning to Framingham from Milford Crossings
  • Route 7 (Framingham, Marlborough) — One evening bus will operate a “Framingham Express” Route, travelling to and from the Banana Lot to the Launch Entertainment stop on California Ave (while Park & Ride is closed), this will have 2 loops. The second evening bus will continue to Marlborough for two more loops, and the second loop will run express. Slight timing adjustments have been made throughout the entire schedule
  • Route 7C (Marlborough, Wayside Inn area) — One and a half loops added
  • Route 14 (Milford) — Two Loops added; will return to Framingham from Milford Crossings as the Route 6. The Milford District Court House stop has been removed. Slight timing adjustments throughout the schedule

The April nighttime expansion will also happen during the "Try Transit" promotion. Anyone can ride MWRTA buses for free through June 30 after acquiring a Catch Card. The promotion does not cover Catch Connect on-demand service.
