National Geographic Names Firefly's One of '10 Best BBQ Joints in America'

This hometown rib joint made this prestigious Top-10 national list.

MARLBOROUGH, MA -- Marlborough’s own Firefly’s made the prestigious 10 Best BBQ Joints in America list in National Geographic for 2016.

At No. 9, National Geographic wrote that, “This award-winning barbecue joint dishes up ribs, brisket, and pulled chicken. Devotees rave about Firefly’s Memphis BBQ sauce that has hints of brown sugar, molasses, and chocolate. Wash it all down with a glass of sweet tea straight out of the South.”

Located in Memphis, TN, Corky’s topped the list.

After he graduated Johnson and Whales in Providence, Firefly’s owner/chef Steve Uliss had lots of positions at restaurants before opening the barbecue chain Tennessee’s. It grew to five locations before Uliss sold it to his partner to create this full service concept that included Southern fare and Memphis style barbecue, a food he developed a passion for cooking after a trip to Memphis. Firefly’s is located at 350 East Main St. in Marlborough. Dine in and take out options are available.
