Nearly 100 Dead Animals Found On Marlborough Man's Property
A Marlborough man was charged with nearly 100 counts of animal cruelty after police found dead animals on a property he was renting.

MARLBOROUGH, MA - A Marlborough man is facing a slew of charges after 96 dead animals, including chickens, geese, pigs, ducks and rabbits were found at a property he was renting.
According to a news release from the Sturbridge Police Department, Andrew Sebastiano was arraigned in Dudley District Court on 96 charges of animal cruelty (subsequent offense) and 96 charges of animal cruelty by custodian (subsequent offense).
"This is an extremely disturbing case of animal cruelty, none like I have seen in my career," Sturbridge Police Chief Earl Dessert said. "The sheer number of animals that suffered and perished is truly heartbreaking."

An adult dog was also seized when Sebastiano was arrested on March 25. The dog is in the care of the police, and more information will be released on its condition when available.
MSPCA Law Enforcement Director Chris Schindler said this is not Sebastiano's first interaction with law enforcement.

"We arrested this person and he pled guilty to animal cruelty charges in 2021," Schindler said. "He was sentenced to probation."
