Marlborough's Newest Fire Truck Arrives, Paid For By ARPA
The new $1.7 million truck will go into service as firefighters learn to use it over the next few weeks.

MARLBOROUGH, MA — A new aerial platform fire truck was delivered to Marlborough last week, a "state-of-the-art" vehicle that replaces one that's been in service for 24 years, according to city officials.
The $1.7 million truck was paid for out of the city's American Rescue Plan Act pandemic recovery allotment. The truck was built by Pierce Manufacturing in Wisconsin, one of the largest fire truck manufacturers in the nation.
The new truck has a 100-foot aerial ladder, and a 1,400-gallon per-minute pump, according to Marlborough Assistant Fire Chief Jeffrey Emanuelson. The truck will be the city's tallest, and means a 2011 95-foot aerial truck will be put into reserve status, according to the department.
