New Marlborough School Committee Member Chosen To Serve Term

He was sworn in earlier this month.

MARLBOROUGH, MA — The newest member of the Marlborough School Committee has officially taken on the role.

The Marlborough School Committee announced that Chris DeMeo was selected as the newest member. He was sworn in at a City Council meeting earlier this month and will serve until December 2027.

DeMeo is a parent to a Marlborough Public Schools student, a PTO member and is involved with Marlborough Youth Soccer. He was selected to serve the remainder of the unexpired term left by Heidi Matthews, who died in June after a three-year battle with cancer.

"Now, as he takes on this new role on the Marlborough School Committee, his focus will be on ensuring that every Marlborough kid and family is served and educated with enthusiasm, integrity and authenticity, and nothing less," wrote Marlborough Public Schools in a news release.
