MARLBOROUGH, MA — Three new faces became potential candidates in Marlborough's 2023 election after pulling papers to run over the last few weeks, according to the city clerk's office.

A fourth mayoral candidate — Sawin Street resident Patrick Hogan — pulled papers on June 21 to run for the seat. He joins City Councilors Christian Dumais and Samantha Perlman. Vigeant will conclude 30 years in office, including six terms as mayor, at the end of 2023.

Ferrecchia Drive resident Quincy Mosby, meanwhile, pulled papers to run for the Ward 4 council seat on June 8. That puts him in a position to run against first-term incumbent Councilor Teona Brown.

Pleasant Street resident Scott King on June 20 filed papers to run for an at-large council seat. With Perlman running for mayor, there's one seat open among the at-large councilors. However, Ward 6 Councilor Sean Navin is leaving that seat to run for an at-large seat.

The filing period to run for office opened on May 8 and will close Aug. 18. During that time, candidates can pull papers and collect signatures in order to get on the ballot for the Nov. 7 election (and an Oct. 10 preliminary, if one is necessary).
