Officer Involved in Shooting on Leave
The police officer involved in the fatal shooting Monday night has been placed on paid administrative leave.

The officer involved in the shooting death of Bryce Coutinho has been placed on paid administrative leave.
“It’s standard. He is on paid administrative leave right now,” said Police Chief Mark Leonard.
The chief declined to comment on the department's ongoing internal investigation into the shooting, directing any questions to the Middlesex District Attorney's Office which is also investigating the shooting.

According to officials, at approximately 8 p.m. Monday Marlborough Police responded to 52 Meadow Brook Road for a domestic disturbance and to assist in the removal of an unwanted person from a residence.
Upon arrival, police were confronted by a man armed with a knife, according to officials. A Marlborough police officer discharged his weapon, according to the District Attorney's Office. The man that was shot was identified as Bryce Coutinho, 22, and pronounced dead at the scene.

Coutinho was set to face an assault and battery charge from a previous incident.
