Package Thefts On The Rise In Marlborough: Police

Police offered advice for residents who want to avoid having packages stolen.

MARLBOROUGH, MA — Thefts of iPhone packages are up in Marlborough and throughout the state, according to the Marlborough Police Department.

Police posted the following on Facebook:

"There’s been a significant uptick in iphone package thefts in our area, and throughout the commonwealth. Thieves are following delivery trucks and waiting for iphone packages to get delivered. After delivery has been made, the thieves will sometimes wear a delivery vest and swipe the packages off your front steps. In an attempt to prevent these thefts from happening, please request a delivery signature vs. leaving the iphone package on your steps. Furthermore, if you see something suspicious in your neighborhood, please give us a call and attempt to grab a license plate number if possible. Thank you and please share."
