Romney Ahead in New Election Forecast
A model by two University of Colorado Professors is predicting former Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney will be the next president.

The economy is one of the key factors in a new prediction that President Barack Obama will lose to former Massachusetts Governor and Presidential Candidate Mitt Romney.
The prediction by two professors, released yesterday, has been picked up by news agencies including the Associated Press and Denver Post.
"Based on our forecasting model, it becomes clear that the president is in electoral trouble," said Kenneth Bickers of CU-Boulder, in a press release, after conducting the analysis with Michael Berry of CU Denver.

They predict that President Obama will fall short of the 270 Electoral College votes he needs to win with only 218. Their analysis includes state-by-state economic factors.
This model appears to fly in the face of current data, including The Huffingtonpost Election Dashboard that has President Obama narrowly leading Romney.
