Sports Player Figurine Company Looks to Marlborough
An Acton company is eyeing Marlborugh.

A company that makes sports figurines is eyeing Marlborough as its new home.
The Acton startup called Oyo Sportstoys is looking to spend $8 million to renovate a space at 111 Locke Drive, reports the Worcester Business Journal.

Oyo Sportstoys is moving toward moving its corporate headquarters and creating a state-of-the-art manufacturing facility, creating some 95 jobs in the city by the end of next year. The company has raised $14 million in funding and has outgrown its Acton space, with agreements with the NFL, NCAA and Major League Baseball .
Oyo’s “top picks” on its site presently include figures of Alex Ovechkin, left wing for Washington Capitals; Ben Bishop, Tamp Bay Lightning’s goalie; and Tommy Hawks, the mascot for the Chicago Blackhawks.
