Students Place in Robotics Competition

Whitcomb School team gets second place.

Students from the Whitcomb School placed second in the annual VEX Competition at the Quinsigamond Community College in Worcester recently.

"It's a challenge, but they do all this stuff themselves," said the Robotics Team Advisor Jeff Gay.

Sixth gradersColin Bogle, Zach Ritter and Noah Rosenzweig were awarded a second place finalist certificate out of 16 teams.

Every year the challenge of the competition changes. With the students in their first year, being able to place was quite an accomplishment, said Gay.

Sixth graders Sarika Satishkumar, Lily Rule and Claire Crittendon won the sportsmanship award. Fifth graders Sarah Orentlich, Rayla Moreira and Mika Alonge won the design award. Sixth graders Colin Bogle, Zach Ritter and Noah Rosenzweig won the competition finalist award. Fifth graders Jordy Gusman, Dylan Wade and Logan Huther won the competition strategy award.
