MARLBOROUGH, MA — Marlborough residents will be able to use newly expanded MetroWest Regional Transit Authority offering fixed-route buses on Sundays.

Fixed route Sunday service is a first for the nearly 20-year-old transit agency. The new service launched Feb. 4, and includes the Route 7 bus that links Marlborough and Framingham, and the Route 7C between the Wayside Inn area and the Solomon Pond Mall.

Those two Marlborough buses join five other routes and the Green Line Connector shuttle in expanding into Sunday service. The Sunday buses run on the same schedule as Saturday service.

The new Sunday service also coincides with MWRTA's participation in the "Try Transit" program, which allows anyone to ride buses for free after signing up for a MWRTA Catch Card. Those cards allow riders to skip paying fares through March 31. Riders without a card will still have to pay the $1.50 bus fare.

Find schedules and stops for the Marlborough buses and all other MWRTA routes on the agency's website.
