Three Arrested Following Alleged Street Assault

A man and two women were arrested after a street assault and the following commotion.

Police were flagged down while patrolling Broad Street shortly before 10 p.m. on Sunday and soon had three arrests on their hands.

When they stopped, they found a man on his knees bleeding from his mouth and face. Police were told that Sean Marqui Shaw, 31, of 85 Broad Street Apt. 2 had struck the man in the face, knocking him to the ground and then going through his pockets trying to take money, according to the police report. This alleged assault caused a “blowout orbital fracture” to the victim’s face, according to court documents. Shaw was arrested at the scene.

While police were questioning witnesses, Mickeya S. Brown, 32 of 85 Broad Street Apt. 2 began yelling at the two young witnesses.

“Brown came outside and began to yell at the witnesses not to speak to the police and they should know better,” according to a police report that stated Brown is the girlfriend of Shaw and has three children with him. “Brown was directly interfering with a police investigation.”

Police arrested Brown and another woman, Toshima Young, 31, of 85 Broad Street Apt. 2, who began yelling and screaming in a woman’s face. Young reportedly resisted when police went to arrest her.

Brown was charged with impeding an investigation through witness intimidation and disorderly conduct. Toshima Young was charged with assault, disorderly conduct and resisting arrest.
