Top Tuba Player In MA Is From Marlborough High School
Senior Jackson Clemons came out on top at the 2023 All State Music Festival, and is headed toward a symphony performance.

MARLBOROUGH, MA — The top tuba player in Massachusetts is from Marlborough.
Marlborough High School senior Jackson Clemons earned the top score in the Massachusetts Music Educators Association auditions for the 2023 all-state concert. Clemons will perform alongside about 500 other students from across the state in a concert at Symphony Hall in Boston in March.
This isn't Clemons' first brush with statewide recognition. He began learning tuba in 5th grade, and went on to perform in the Central District Junior Festival in 7th and 8th grades, and in his sophomore, junior and senior years of high school. He also performed in the all-state festival in his junior and senior year, according to Marlborough Public Schools.
