Two Marlborough Hikers Rescued from New Hampshire Mountain

Two hikers from Marlborough required the aid of New Hampshire Fish and Game officers after becoming unsure of their way as they descended Mt. Monadnock in Keene, NH. Sunday evening.

Joseph Winer, 22, and Allison Smith, 17, began their hike at 2:30 p.m., said the Boston Globe. "They started their descent from the summit at about 6 p.m. Neither hiker had a flashlight or headlamp and eventually became stranded due to darkness."

Fish and game officers found the pair at 9:45 p.m. and assisted their descent down the mountain.
