VIDEO: Verizon Employees Want Resolution to Strike

For more than a week now, 45,000 Verizon employees in the northeast have been on strike with no major developments in the talks.

More than 4,500 Massachusetts employees of the cable/phone company Verizon are still on strike this week. 

The strike began at 12:01 a.m. Sunday, Aug. 7 and employees have picketed the two facilities in Marlborough ever since.

Employees having the lines ever since the strike, but said they were ready to return to work only a few days in. The  has been on hand to make sure protests and any confrontations remained civil.

One employee, Rod Ballard, spoke for the group, saying they were just trying to maintain the benefits they've had and in the process stand up for an eroding middle class.

"There is nothing else we can do," said Ballard. "We are out here just doing our part."

According to a Boston Globe report on Tuesday, the company is in court in several of the affected states asking for injunctions against the strike. 

Besides the Hildreth location, employees have been on strike at the Locke Drive facility.
