VIDEO: Verizon Workers 'Fighting for the Middle Class'
Verizon employees at both Marlborough locations are manning the picket lines throughout the labor strike.
More than 4,500 Massachusetts employees of the cable/phone company Verizon are on strike this week after negotiations between the workers union and the company broke down.
The strike began at 12:01 a.m. Sunday and employees have picketed two facilities in Marlborough ever since as part of an effort that is encompassing all of Verizon's 45,000 employees in the northeast.
About a half-dozen employees were on hand Tuesday afternoon outside the facility at Main and Hildreth streets. The was also on hand to make sure protests and any confrontations remained civil.

One employee, Rod Ballard, spoke for the group, saying they were just trying to maintain the benefits they've had and in the process stand up for an eroding middle class.
Besides the Hildreth location, employees have been on strike at the Locke Drive facility.
