Vital to Run for Ward 1 Councilor Position
A newcomer to politics, Mark Vital will run for Ward 1 Councilor Seat

A newcomer to the local political arena, Mark Vital has "pulled papers" for the Ward 1 Councilor position here in Marlborough. Vital is a lifelong resident and graduate of Marlborough High. After graduating from Clark University, he entered the US Army, where he achieved the rank of 1st Lieutenant. After serving four years in the Army, Vital returned home, received his MBA from Rivier University, and was employed as a human resource executive in both Inc. and Fortune 500 companies. At night, he taught business classes at Northeastern University. Vital stayed in the human resource field for 15 years.
Seeking a change of profession, Vital continued with his education receiving an M.Ed from Framingham University and an Ed.S degree from UMASS Lowell, and was a teacher in Marlborough for 15 years, teaching at both Marlborough High and the Advanced Math and Science Academy (AMSA). Over the last four years, he was employed as the Community Outreach Manager at AMSA where he directed city-wide "drives" for coats, children's clothes, and food.
Vital has been very involved in serving those in need in the greater Marlborough area. He is a recreation commissioner for the city. He has also volunteered at the Marlborough Regional Chamber of Commerce and is presently the President of the Rotary Club of Marlborough. Additionally, he is also the founder of two non-profits here in Marlborough Sweats for Vets and the Highland City Striders.

Vital resides with his lovely wife Sondra. He is a father of three and has two golden retrievers, Hershey and Heath.
