MARTHA'S VINEYARD, MA — The Steamship Authority has suspended all ferry service to and from Martha's Vineyard and Nantucket for the remainder of Wednesday and the first trip of Thursday morning.

The company says due to power issues, they are unable to put out trip alerts but assured that all service is suspended until further notice.

The National Weather Service is recommending people not travel in Southeastern Massachusetts, where winds have been gusting with hurricane-like strength. In Edgartown, a 94-mile-per-hour gust was recorded.
