Cape Cod Boy Knocks Out Father Over Texting At Dinner: Cops
Yarmouth police said a boy out to dinner with his family punched his father, causing a "severe" head injury.

YARMOUTH, MA — A Cape Cod boy was arrested over the weekend after police said he knocked out his father during a dispute over texting while the family ate dinner at a restaurant. The juvenile, who was not named, was arrested Saturday at a Yarmouthport restaurant.
"A family was having dinner in the restaurant," Yarmouth police said in a statement. "A father asked his son to stop repeatedly texting during dinner. The father and son argued and went outside. Once outside, juvenile male punched his elderly father in the face with so much force that it knocked him unconscious and he ended up hitting his head off of the ground. The father sustained a severe head injury."
An off-duty Dennis firefighter who was at the restaurant and became aware of the fight rendered aid to the father, helping save his life, police said. The father was expected to survive.
