Cape Cod Storm Shelters Open; Pets Welcome
Cape Cod storm update: shelters at Falmouth High School, Barnstable Intermediary School and Cape Cod Regional Technical High School.

HARWICH, MA — Cape Cod officials on Saturday opened three shelters for those affected by Friday's devastating storm. The shelters are at Falmouth High School, Barnstable Intermediary School and Cape Cod Regional Technical High School. Pets are welcome. The shelters are managed by the Barnstable County Regional Emergency Planning Committee.
At the height of the storm, more than 450,000 lost power across the state. Reports indicate outages will likely persist into late next week. The good news for line crews is the weather will be calm and seasonable all week, with brief periods of rain.
Friday's storm was blamed for at least one death after a tree fell on a man in Plympton.
