Gas Odor Sends Fire Department To Nantucket School
Firefighters are investigating the area near Nantucket Intermediate School after receiving reports of a heavy gas smell.

NANTUCKET, MA — Reports of a gas smell near a Nantucket school has caused an emergency response from the island's fire department Monday morning.
The smell was first reported just after 8 a.m., sending firefighters to Nantucket Intermediate School, according to the Nantucket Mirror.
The Fire Department is also investigating the gas smell around the area of Surfside Road, and Tashama Lane, where a thick smell of gas was reported by the Mirror.

This comes after a powerful winter storm sent massive flooding, strong winds and heavy snow to the Cape, Islands, and the majority of Massachusetts over the weekend.
