Massachusetts Police Mourn One Of Their Own

YARMOUTH, MA — It was a tragic week for police agencies across Massachusetts following the death of Yarmouth Police Officer Sean Gannon. Gannon, 32, was shot and killed last week trying to arrest a career criminal on a probation violation. The tragedy highlighted the inherent dangers police officers face, especially serving warrants.
Police said Thomas Latanowich, a Somerville man with 125 criminal charges, shot Gannon and his police dog in Barnstable as officers surrounded his house. Read more.
