ARBITRAGE When we first meet New York hedge-fund magnate Robert Miller (Richard Gere) on the eve of his 60th birthday, he appears the very portrait of success in American business and family life. But behind the gilded walls of his mansion, Miller is in over his head, desperately trying to complete the sale of his trading empire to a major bank before the depths of his fraud are revealed. Struggling to conceal his duplicity from loyal wife Ellen (Susan Sarandon) and brilliant daughter and heir-apparent Brooke (Brit Marling), Miller's also balancing an affair with French art-dealer Julie Cote (Laetetia Casta). Just as he's about to unload his troubled empire, an unexpected bloody error forces him to juggle family, business, and crime with the aid of Jimmy Grant (Nate Parker), a face from Miller's past.

SIDE BY SIDE a new documentary produced by Keanu Reeves, takes an in-depth look at this revolution. Through interviews with directors, cinematographers, film students, producers, technologists, editors, and exhibitors, SIDE BY SIDE examines all aspects of filmmaking - from capture to edit, visual effects to color correction, distribution to archive. At this moment when digital and photochemical filmmaking coexist, SIDE BY SIDE explores what has been gained, what is lost, and what the future might bring.

USA/Multiple Countries * 2012 * 96 mins. * Documentary * Not-rated

Tickets for all regularly shown films are $10 for general admission at door only and $7 for MV Film Society members (memberships available at the film center).

To be sensitive to the other retail businesses open at the Tisbury Market Place (TMP) in afternoon and evening, the Martha’s Vineyard Film Society asks that if you are coming to the Film Center for the 3:30 or 7:30 pm screenings - please refrain from parking in front of NET RESULT at the entrance of the TMP or in the spaces directly in front of ROCCO's PIZZA - because they have "take-out" customers that are coming and going. Please try to park in back of the Film Center building first (there are about 30 spaces in back and some along the side buildings (behind Toy Box/barbershop) by turn right past the Net Result as you first drive into the TMP or going right at Mark Hutkers offices at the back of the horseshoe - there are 20 space parallel to the buildings on both sides.
