Developer to Discuss Proposed Basketball Facility

For months, the informal word among town officials has been that Dover resident and businessman Anton Melchionda is proposing an indoor basketball facility for Hospital Road that has been described as "a deal too good to be true," yet no written proposal has been made available (as of this writing) to provide concrete details on the idea.

However, the public will now get a chance to learn more since a joint Select Board/Warrant Committee meeting with Onyx Partners Ltd. (of which Melchionda is principal/founder) has been scheduled for 6 to 7:30 p.m., Tuesday, Feb. 25 at the Town House and on Zoom. Public input is encouraged. (Details and Zoom link on agenda.)

On May 5, 2025, Town Meeting voters will be presented with an article that seeks to allow Medfield Select Board to dispose of the Hospital Road property, formerly part of Medfield State Hospital, presumably for the proposed basketball facility.
