: The city council held a special meeting yesterday to talk crime activity with Police Chief Leo Sacco, who told them the department is badly understaffed, but more manpower wouldn't have prevented the three recent unconnected killings.

: The Mustangs tournament hopes came to a crashing halt last night, as they were blown out by Lincoln Sudbur, 74-44, in the first round of playoff action.

: Recreation uses and needs at the Middlesex Fells will be the focus of a public workshop tonight at 6:30 p.m. at McGlynn School. Speakers will include Michele Biscoe, Fells Dog Group; Heather Clish, Appalachian Mountain Club; Tom Grimble, New England Mountain Bike Association; and Mike Ryan, Friends of the Middlesex Fells Reservation.

Police Community Meeting: The Medford Police Department holds it's regular monthly meeting tonight at 7 p.m. at the police academy building next to the Police department.
